OUT! CHOPPED ON! Taskin Ahmed has the final laugh and he draws first blood! Ahmed serves it short, just tightening the line this time. Kusal Mendis is cramped for room as he gets on his heels to block it. The ball gets off the inner egde of his blade and deflects onto the stumps. That is the opening that Bangladesh needed.

FOUR! MORE RUNS! Taskin Ahmed delivers it short again, this time outside off. Kusal Mendis slashes this time and sends it flying over backward point. The fielder in the deep fails to reach it in time and Sri Lanka get four more runs.

FOUR! Welcomes him with a boundary! Taskin Ahmed drops it short and keeps it over off. Kusal Mendis stands tall and pulls it through deep sqaure leg. The ball meets the ropes for four runs to start the over.

Shortish again, on off. Kusal Mendis swivels and pulls it to deep square leg to end the over with a single.

The fielder is quick to the ball and throws it towards the keeper but it is not within his reach. There is no one to back up the throw as well and it meets the fence.

PITCH REPORT - Natalie Germanos is pitchside she says that the game will be played on pitch 4. She gives us an idea of the dimensions here and mentions that the square boundaries are 61 and 71 meters while the straight one is 73 meters. Waqar Younis joins her and he says that the average bounce is high on this pitch and reckons that this region is more favourable to the bowlers. Adds that some leg spin will be expected with the pitch having a tinge of green as well.

Wanindu Hasaranga , the skipper of Sri Lanka says that they don't have ay specific target in their mind but will capitalise the first 6 overs. Mentions that they are playing 2 proper seamers and spinners along with 2 fast bowling all rounders.

Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of Bangladesh says that he expects some swing and seam. Adds that the top 4 batters will have to perform well and they have been working hard. Mentions that the pitch looks dry and hopes that the new ball will favor them

In their match against South Africa, the Lankans were dismissed for just 77 on a tricky wicket in New York. None of their batters were able to cross the 20-run mark.
