Keshav Maharaj lets slip of another delivery and ends up serving a very high full toss that angles quickly across the left-hander. The trajectory made it difficult to put away and Taskin Ahmed ends up slicing it away over the cover region for a single. The height is just about fine and South Africa have won by 4 runs and remain unbeaten in Men's T20Is against Bangladesh!

OUT! CAUGHT! OH, WOW! That is some catch under pressure from the Proteas skipper but Mahmudullah will be livid with himself to have not got that one over the ropes. Keshav Maharaj serves a juciy full toss right on middle stump, Mahmudullah gets under it and lifts it high. The ball goes a mile up but doesn't quite have the legs on it. Markram moves to his left from long on and takes it inches inside the ropes on the run and over his shoulder as well. What a moment and that could be the knockout blow for Bangladesh.

Rishad Hossain goes well across to the off side trying to slog it away but misses and gets struck on the pads. The ball rolls away behind point and they scamper for a leg bye. There was a huge appeal for LBW but it was turned down and South Africa did take the review. Nothing on UltraEdge and the impact is outside the line of off stump.

OUT! CAUGHT! Keshav Maharaj with a body blow to Bangladesh and not only is it a wicket but the new man will be on strike as well with Mahmudullah stranded at the other end. Maharaj flights the ball up and drifts it onto middle and leg, Jaker Ali skips down the pitch and looks to lift it over long on but doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball and finds the fielder in the deep. Aiden Markram pouches it safely.

The batters push for two but it isn't quite on as the fielder from tidies up but the throw at the bowler's end is wide and they do get the second run.

Quite quick and a bit short around off, Mahmudullah backs away to cut but gets an inside edge past the stumps and past Quinton de Kock as well for a single at short fine leg.

WIDE! Oh, the pressure! Tries to fire it in but spills it down the leg side and even Quinton de Kock spills it but they won't get the additional single.

Jaker Ali mistimes another one but gets it in the gap and picks up a couple of crucial runs. Banged in a bit by Ottneil Baartman and at the batter, Ali gets rushed and just about manages to pull it away through mid-wicket for a brace. Baartman has done well here, just 7 off that over and Bangladesh now need 11 off the final over.

That should have been put away and Ottneil Baartman will feel he's got away with one there. A bit slower and floated up on the legs, Mahmudullah comes forward and flicks it away but straight on the bounce to short fine leg. Only a single then.

Full again and around off stump, Jaker Ali hangs deep in the crease and drags the attempted heave square through the leg side and gets just a single.

This time, they do get two runs! Fuller in length and angling it into the leg stump, Jaker Ali stays leg side of the ball and miscues the heave through the vacant mid-wicket region and races back for the second run.

Just the single, South Africa won't mind that at all. This is bowled short of a length and at the body, Mahmudullah drops it into the vacant space at mid-wicket and wants two but the bowler, Ottneil Baartman is quick to chase it down and keeps it down to a single.

Swing and a miss! Full and wide outside the off stump, Mahmudullah skips down the track and looks to loft it over covers but misses it completely.

OUT! LBW! Another appeal, not sure you can even call that an appeal but the finger goes up. Towhid Hridoy does review it right away though. Kagiso Rabada comes in from over the stumps and pitches it short of a good length around middle and angles it in. Hridoy misses the clip off the legs and the ball goes of the pads to mid-wicket as the batters scamper through. Nothing on UltraEdge but Ball Tracking shows that it would have clipped the leg stump and it stays OUT on Umpire's call. What a big breakthrough this from Rabaa and Hridoy is absolutely distraught.

Gets it perfect this time! Full and right in the blockhole around off stump, Mahmudullah can only jam it back out to the bowler. 20 needed now off 18 balls.

South Africa will be aware, if they get one of these two in next couple of wickets, they could then put heavy pressure on the lower batting order. A fascinating second half of the chase is coming up. The ball shoots up off the deck and once again, just like Shakib Al Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto is also hurried on the pull shot. Shanto miscues it badly and just on the leg side where skipper Aiden Markram comes in from mid-wicket and takes another dolly of a catch. Bangladesh are now four down.

Buzzers! What seemed like a good fielding effort has ended costing South Africa a couple of extra runs. Soft dismisaal for Litton but South Africa will be ecstatic with that.

EDGED AND DROPPED! That should have been a wicket off the first ball for Mahmudullah but Litton Das has grassed it. David Miller looks to play it off the front foot but gets a thick outside edge and goes straight into the left leg as Litton Das is pretty late with the glovework. Could be a huge opportunity missed here for Bangladesh.

Drinks break! Pheww, an engrossing first 10 overs and rightly so, everyone need a bit of a breather here. Quinton de Kock came out all guns blazing for South Africa but so did Tanzim Hasan Sakib as he dismantled the Proteas top order and along with the help of Taskin Ahmed had them reeling at 23 for 4. Since then, bithday boy, David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen have just regained a bit of control for South Africa but they need a lot more from this duo. Bangladesh will hope their spinners also pick up wickets in the middle overs and restrict the opposition to a low total. Let's see how the first innings pans out.

Quinton de Kock looks to just bend his back and plays the pick-up pull short but is completely undone. The ball sneaks under the willow and hits the top of off stump.

WIDE! Banged in well short and pushed well outside the off stump as well. Wide called.

Good change up now! Brings out the slower ball, bowling it on a tad fuller length in the channel, Quinton de Kock looks to punch it away but is beaten by the lack of pace.

Good carry through! Bustling in from around the stumps, bowls this one on a hard length outside off and angles it in a bit. The ball gathers pace off the deck and beats Quinton de Kock who was looking to cut.

Much fuller and on middle and off, Aiden Markram plays the off drive on the up but hits it straight to mid off.

Oh, a tidy leave but a risky one as well. Hard length angled into the off stump and just nipping away off the deck, Aiden Markram shoulders arms at it.

Back to over the wicket for the right-hander and pitches this one right at the stumps at 142.3 clicks, Aiden Markram stays watchful and blocks it to mid off.

Switches to around the wicket and bowls it back of a length around off stump, Quinton de Kock lets the ball come on and just guides it down to third man for a single.

Bangladesh skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto says that they would have bowled first anyway, so, they are happy. Informs that Jaker Ali has come in for Soumya Sarkar. Adds that wherever they play, the support is immense and they are happy with it. Mentions that he is happy with the boys after the previous win and believes they will do good here as well. Adds that they finally have a leg-spinner who has been consistent and hopes that they play some good cricket today.

Aiden Markram, the captain of South Africa says they will bat first as it is a used wicket. Feels the pitch could get slower as the game progresses and that could help their pacers. Reckons they back themselves to put on a good total. The trend is shifting to bat first and hopefully they do the job. Shares the batters need to find some forms, including himself, they just need a couple of good knocks to get back in form.

PITCH REPORT - It is the third game we are playing on the same surface, once again it won't be easy for the batters. The back of the length delivery and hard-length delivery could help the bowlers as it would be hard for batters to hit the longer square boundaries.

South Africa on the other hand have played two and won two and a win here against Bangladesh will see them take pole position in Group D and would all but guarantee a passage to the next round. In both their games, the Proteas have bowled extremely well but we have also seen them falter with the bat. They will count themselves a bit lucky against Netherlands as David Miller and Tristan Stubbs pulled them out of trouble and the former even went on to score a match-winning half-century. We already know that this pitch will aid the bowlers, so, it will really come down to which side can have that mental fortitude with the bat. Can South Africa overome another stern challenge and get one foot into the Super Eights? Or will Bangladesh rise up and go level on points with them? We shall find out. Toss and teams in a bit.

Bangladesh have played one match so far and that was a very close encounter against Sri Lanka in Dallas. With a win under their belt, the players will be confident of notching up an upset against a Proteas side that didn't look like a tournament favorite in their last game against Netherlands. Bangladesh do have the bowling attack to trouble the best of teams but it is all about consistency and that batting lineup needs to back the bowlers if they are to get the win.

Hello and welcome back to the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York where less than 24 hours ago we witnessed an epic encounter between two eternal rivals, India and Pakistan. The venue has seen a game daily since the 7th of June and to kick off a new week in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, we have Bangladesh taking on South Africa in a Group D clash. Both teams are unbeaten so far and will look to battle it out for supremacy in this group and thankfully, it is a fairly sunny morning in New York.

South Africa has kicked off this World Cup with two impressive wins, edging closer to a spot in the Super Eight. However, their victory over the Netherlands wasn't easy, with a gritty half-century from David Miller and a crucial contribution from Tristan Stubbs getting them across the line. Now, another tricky challenge awaits as they prepare to face Bangladesh. South Africa's bowling has been fantastic so far, with Anrich Nortje leading the pace attack and finding his rhythm.
