Mahipal Lomror in the deep gets to it and fires in a throw at the keeper's end and Dinesh Karthik whips off the bails as Ravindra is nowhere to be seen. Ravindra seemed to have called no on the second run but Dube had his head straight and just didn't stop.

Full toss on the stumps, Ravindra backs away and swings the ball away over deep mid-wicket for a biggie and what a timely knock this could be from the young southpaw.

Halt! It seems like Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli are not happy with the condition of the ball but the umpire is saying that he cannot do anything about it. Lockie Ferguson is finding it hard to grip the ball and it is slipping out of his hand. For now, we continue with this ball.

The Kiwi starts with a slower one, full and on off, Ajinkya Rahane looks to go over mid off but mistimes his shot due to the lack of pace, the ball goes high in the air, Faf du Plessis at covers settles under it, and pouches it safely. Rahane goes back after a decent knock but Chennai lose their third now!

Strategic-Break! This game is really on a knife's edge at the moment as Bengaluru rocked Chennai with a couple of early wickets but now, Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra have got the visitors back on track. Chennai do have a deep batting lineup and Bengaluru don't quite have world-class spinners to dominate the middle phase and it will be interesting to see whether the hosts can pick up wickets in the upcoming middle phase. Chennai will be hoping that this partnership continues for a few more overs before the big hitters can come in. With that said, their most experienced spinner, Karn Sharma comes into the attack.

Oh, that could have been trouble for Rachin Ravindra. Nagging length, angled in on middle and leg stump, Ravindra looks to play it off the back foot but gets an inside edge onto the body and thankfully for him, the ball rolls away in front and not back onto the stumps.

Short of a length again and over middle, pulled away off the back foot but without much timing and in front of mid-wicket for one.

Sharp turn! This is bowled a bit quicker and shorter on off stump, the ball grips and comes back in, Ajinkya Rahane gets pegged back and just about manages to fend it to the off side.

Not great bowling this as Mohammed Siraj now serves a full toss on the pads, Ajinkya Rahane flicks it away well in front of square on the leg side and Yash Dayal gets across and gets a boot to it. Three runs are taken and 13 runs come off that over.

FOUR BYES! Given as runs but it is changed to byes later on! Banged in well short and quick over the stumps, Ajinkya Rahane looks to ramp it away but the ball just flies off the deck and even a leaping Dinesh Karthik can't get his gloves on that one.

Mohammed Siraj is lucky to get away with that one. Short and wide outside off, Rachin Ravindra lays into the shot and slaps the cut on the bounce to cover-point where Cameron Green does well to get his body behind the line and keeps it down to one.

OUT! CAUGHT! Instant impact from Yash Dayal and what a revelation he has been for Bengaluru in these later stages. Dayal drags the length back and bangs it in a bit around leg stump. Daryl Mitchell tries to hang back and back away to go over mid-wicket but gets into an awkward position and ends up scooping it wide of mid off. Virat Kohli gets across and takes it easily and boy, he is really pumped at the moment.

Oh, that is sharp work from Virat Kohli. Starts with a fuller delivery around the off stump, Daryl Mitchell plays it off the front foot to mid off and Rachin Ravindra sets off for aq single before quickly realizing that he has to get back and manages to dive back in.

On a good length this time, slinging it across from middle and leg, Rachin Ravindra stays on the front foot and punches it on the up to the left of mid off.

This is bowled full and in the channel around off stump, Rachin Ravindra gets on the front foot and punches it sweetly but straight to mid off.

FOUR! Rachin Ravindra gets that one away. Fuller delivery just outside off, Ravindra drives it away not quite off the middle off the bat but in the gap between cover and point for a boundary.

Glenn Maxwell with the golden arm though. Maxwell starts from over the stumps and drops it short over middle, turning it in, Gaikwad just looks to rock back and help it on its way but tamely lobs it in front of short fine where Yash Dayal leans forward to take the catch. What a start to the chase!

A dot to end! Shardul Thakur comes from around the stumps and bowls it seam up, on a good length and in the channel around off, angling it back in sharply. Mahipal Lomror looks to play it away on the off side but is beaten past the outside edge. Bengaluru get 13 runs off the final over and finish with 218/5 on the board!

OUT! CAUGHT! Shardul Thakur does get rid of Glenn Maxwell with one ball remaining in the innings. Thakur brings out the slower one and bowls it into the pitch and at the batter. Maxwell is taken aback and just goes after it but the ball goes off the top edge and id lobbed high around square leg. MS Dhoni calls for it from behind the stumps and take sit safely.

FOUR! That was begging to be hit and that's poor bowling from Shardul Thakur. A waist-height full toss wide of the off stump, Glenn Maxwell reaches out and slaps it away square through covers for a boundary.

SIX! Shardul Thakur misses the yorker by a few inches and Glenn Maxwell punishes him. A low full toss angled in on middle and leg, Maxwell powers the ball over long on for a biggie.

Hit hard but not quite in the gap! Full and angled in at the toes, Glenn Maxwell clears the front leg and hits it firmly just in front of deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs.

Not quite timed! A low full toss on middle and angling in, Cameron Green stays deep in the crease and hits it off the toe end of the bat, flat and well in front of long on for just a single.

Who will bowl the last over? It will be Shardul Thakur.

FOUR! That is streaky but Glenn Maxwell will take it with both hands. A slower bumper over middle stump, Maxwell is very early to set up for the reverse hit but is beaten by the lack of pace and the ball ends up lobbing off the gloves and over the keeper's head and eventually trickles into the fence.

Dinesh Karthik goes chasing after it and ends up getting a fine outside edge that carries through to the keeper and MS Dhoni makes no mistake behind the stumps. DK will feel he has done his job but Deshpande finally gets a wicket.

FOUR! That is some skill from Dinesh Karthik and he has fooled everyone here. Full and wide again, DK shuffles a long way across and threatens to go over fine leg but at the last moment just reverse ramps it between the keeper and short third for a boundary. The 200 also comes up for bengaluru.
