Oh, hello! Fired in at 100 clicks and banged in short on off stump, the ball seems to have hit a crack and just takes off, Jan Frylinck does well to bend his back and sway out of the way.

OUT! PLAYED ON! Bilal Khan provides the perfect start for Oman and its game on! Bilal keeps it quite full and gets it to swing away late from off and middle stump. Michael Van Lingen stays leg side of the ball and looks to heave it away but there's no foot movement and the ball takes the inside edge before going back onto the stumps and the bails fall off.

On the money! Nice and full, swinging away from the off stump, Michael Van Lingen gets nicely forward and drives it firmly but straight to covers.

OUT! CAUGHT! Straight to the man but that is a fine catch from Ruben Trumpelmann and Oman have been bowled out inside 20 overs. David Wiese bowls it on a fuller length and wide of the off stump, Shakeel Ahmed latches onto the width and slaps it away a bit uppishly but straight to backward point where Ruben Trumpelmann takes a sharp catch low to his right. Wiese finishes off with three wickets and Oamn are bundled out for 109 runs!

Kaleemullah walks across to the off side and misses the flick, the ball brushes the pads right in front of the stumps and goes to the keeper. There is a loud appeal and the finger goes up.

Oh, dear! That should have been a run out but Ruben Trumpelmann has messed up completely and overall that was just a comedy of errors. Bowled from over the wicket to the left-hander, on a hard length and around off, Shakeel Ahmed cuts it to short third and his partnerm is already halfway down the track before being sent back. The ball is thrown back to the bowler who is also halfway down the pitch and will ample time and all stumps to aim at, Ruben misses and eventually, they get a single.

It is the slower one again and Mehran Khan misses the ball completely while going for the big heave leg side. The ball hits the thigh pads and rolls wide of the keeper to the off side and Wiese's appeal is turned down by the umpire. It is reviewed and Ball Tracking comes up with three reds and Oman lose their eighth wicket.

Oh, that one seemed to hit a crack and just take off! Slower one around off and just into the pitch, the ball bounces extra and takes the glove of Shakeel Ahmed before rolloing behind point. They get a single.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! A stunning effort off his own bowling and David Wiese has his first wicket of the game. Another slower delivery, bowled on a fuller length and around off. Khalid Kail looks to drive through the line of the ball but the ball just sticks in the pitch and the shot is mistimed. The ball goes uppishly to the left of the bowler and Wiese dives across on the followthrough to take a fine tumbling catch.

SIX! BANG! This is pitched up a bit in the slot around off and slower too, Khalid Kail just gets under it and pumps the ball a long way over wide long on for a 93-meter biggie.

Another slower one, floated up full and outside off, Mehran Khan charges down the track to go big but is beaten all ends up.

Nicely bowled! Tangeni Lungameni sees the batter stepping out and dishes out the slower bumper, Mehran Khan ends up ducking under it.

FOUR! Hammered away! Length ball around off, Mehran Khan stpes out and drills the ball flat back past the bowler and to the right of long off for a boundary.

Oh, that is a fine effort from Jan Frylinck but did he spill it? Yes, it does look like it. Bowled on a hard length and around off, Mehran Khan steps out to go big but miscues the lofted shot over mid off. The finger goes up and Nadeem is stood in disbelief but Oman are out of reviews and that looked pretty straight.

PITCH REPORT - Matthew Hayden is pitchside. He says that there is a bit of wind coming in from the East coast and in general, the boundaries are small all across the ground. Morgan joins him and says that the pitch will get slower as the game goes on and the pacers will use the slower balls more and more.

The skipper of Oman, Aqib Ilyas says they will look to set a good target on board and put pressure on Namibia. Adds that playing Namibia before the tournament would surely help them as it gives a good idea of the opponents strength and weakness. Metions that all the planning has been done and it now time to execute their plans.

Namibia's captain, Gerhard Erasmus says that they will bowl first due to the rain around and will look to gather some information early on. Adds that they have prepared really well and will look to showcase that now. Adds that it is a good thing that they have played against Oman recently and ends by saying that you need to execute well to earn points.

Gerhard Erasmus -led Namibia is the stronger of the two sides and possesses much more experience than their opponents for the day. They have arrived with an experienced side with compact batters, impactful all-rounders and a good-looking bowling attack. The batting will rely on skipper Gerhard Erasmus, Malan Kruger, Jean-Pierre Kotze and others while the role of finishing will be on a quality duo of David Wiese and Jan Frylinck. The pace bowling will be led by Ruben Trumpelmann while the side will rely on Bernard Scholtz to cause headaches to the opponent batters with his left-arm spin. The side looks solid on paper and they have recently defeated Oman in a 5-match series before the ICC T20 World Cup.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is here and cricketing fans all across the globe will have their eyes fixated on the fast-paced and ehthralling cricketing action over the course of the next month or so and in Match 3 of the tournament, Namibia will take on Oman at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. This will be the first maatch of Group B which also features Australia, England and Scotland which makes this clash a huge deal as this might be a huge morale-booster to the side that is able to get the win. Namibia are a well-drilled unit who have been able to roar back into major ICC events in recent times after some success in the earkly 2000s. Led by the dynamic Gerhard Erasmus who is the main man for them with both bat and ball, Namibia also features quite a few players who can play different roles given the requirements. They do have a few decent spinners and Bernard Scholtz will be one to look out for and the pace duo of Ruben Trumpelmann and Tangeni Lungameni can be destructive once in-form. The batting line-up is fairly experienced but needs to fire if they are to get a win or two under their belt. Oman on the other hand will be confident coming into this clash as they recently made the final of the ACC Premier Cup losing to the UAE but they did lose to Namibia in a five-match T20I series narrowly. Before the T20 World Cup, Oman announced Aqib Ilyas as their new skipper taking over from Zeeshan Maqsood and will Aqib will be expected to lead Oman into a new era. They do have a few experienced batters at the top in the form of Kashyap Prajapati and former skipper Zeeshan Maqsood but the middle order does seem slightly weak. They do have a more than decent pace battery to trouble the opposition but their slower bowlers will need to step up if they are to win. A clash that has a lot riding on it even if it's the opening fixture for both sides and neither will back down from a dogfight. Who are you backing for the win?
