OUT! TRAPPED IN FRONT! ALL OVER FOR ENGLAND! INDIA MARCH INTO THE FINAL! Jasprit Bumrah finishes things off as India win by 68 runs and have made it to their third Men's T20 World Cup final. Steams in from over the wicket and dishes it out on a fullish length, tailing in, on middle, Jofra Archer walks right across his stumps and tries to take it on the full to paddle it past short fine leg. He fails to lay any bat on it and the ball sneaks past the inside edge to thud him on the back toe right in front of the stumps. Up goes the finger but Archer reviews more in hope than anything else. There is no bat involved on UltraEdge and on Ball Tracking, it is umpire's call with the ball clipping the leg stump.

The game seems to be over as Jofra Archer has been adjudged LBW but he has opted for the review. This was full and straight from Jasprit Bumrah and the third umpire is having a look. Clearly, no bat involved and Ball Tracking shows the wickets as umpire's call and the onfield decision stands. OUT comes up on the big screen and it's all over.

Pace on and attacking the stumps, on a length, Reece Topley clears his front leg to go back over the bowler's head but gets an inside edge onto the pads. The ball rolls away on the leg side off his pads for one.

Rolls his fingers over the ball and serves it on a nagging length, on off, Jofra Archer dabs it to deep point for one more run.

Slips in a loopy delivery, dipping towards the batter, Reece Topley reaches out in front and eases it to long on for a single.

FOUR! Up and over! Full and right in the slot, on off, Jofra Archer does not miss out as he lifts it up cleanly and gets it way over mid off for a boundary.

Slanting in, on a hard length, on off, Reece Topley makes room to play at it but gets an inside edge that rolls down to fine leg for a single.

Digs it in short again does Hardik, on midde, Jofra Archer miscues the pull in front of long on for a single.

SIX! Straight as an arrow! Delivers it on a short of a length, Jofra Archer stands tall and with a still head, smokes it over the bowler's head for a biggie.

OUT! RUN OUT! Absolutely brilliant by Suryakumar Yadav! India now a wicket away from making it to the final. Hardik lands it on a hard length, on middle, Adil Rashid hops to tuck it away but gets a leading edge that lobs wide of mid on. There is a bit of hesitation but the batters do decide to cross over. Suryakumar Yadav from a widish mid on position, runs across to his left and picks it up with his right hand. Facing towards mid off, SKY flicks the ball towards the bowling end and hits the stumps. Adil Rashid puts in the dive but he is caught way short of his crease.

Hardik takes pace off straight away, on a short of a good length, outside off, Adil Rashid stays leg side of the ball and slaps it in front of square on the off side for a couple of runs.

So nearly sneaked through! Axar darts it in from around the wicket, short and coming in with the angle, at the stumps, Jofra Archer just about manages to squeeze out an inside edge onto the pads. Axar is done for the day. He ends with figures of 4-0-23-3.

Adil Rashid comes out to bat.

OUT! RUN OUT! Oh, dear! Jofra Archer has left Liam Livingstone stranded and that is the last nail in the English coffin for sure. Axar Patel bowls this one flatter and on a good length, angling it into the batter. Archer goes hard at it but gets an inside edge down to short fine leg and Livingstone calls him for a single. Archer says no and turns away whilst Livingstone is more than halfway down the pitch. Kuldeep Yadav picks up the ball and throws it back to the bowler who whips off the bails and Livingstone isn't even in the picture.

SIX! Clean strike from Jofra Archer! Full and straight in the slot, Archer takes the front leg out and swings through the line, hammering it over the bowler's head for a biggie.

Gives it a bit of air and drifts it into the legs, Jofra Archer clears the front foot and goes for the big heave across the line, failing to connect and gets hit on the pads.

On the shorter side around off, Liam Livingstone makes room and slaps it away to deep point for a single.

Looking for two and they do get it. Sliding into the legs, Liam Livingstone flicks it away in front of square on the leg side and sprints back for the second run.

Fires it in a bit quicker and shorter, on middle, Liam Livingstone rocks back and pulls it to wide long on to keep the strike with a single.

Drops it short and turning away, outside off, Jofra Archer checks his shot as he pushes it past cover for a single.

How has that missed the stumps? That is a brute of a delivery from Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja pitches the ball up on middle and leg and gets the ball to drift in and then turn away sharply. Jofra Archer is drawn forward but is well beaten as the ball just goes over the stumps.

Bowled flatter and on a length at the stumps, Liam Livingstone backs away and forces it flat-batted down to long off for a single.

Shorter and around off, chopped away past point for a single.

Fired in on a nagging length and right at the stumps, Jofra Archer just about manages to keep it out.

On the shorter side and at the stumps, Liam Livingstone rocks back and just tucks it to the right of Kuldeep Yadav.

Back to over the wicket and bowled flatter and angled well across the off stump, Liam Livingstone looks to cut off the back foot but can't get it away.

Bowled flatter and a bit shorter around off stump, Jofra Archer looks to cut but gets an inside edge past off stump and the ball goes towards fine leg. A single is taken.

Switches to around the stumps and floats the ball right up at the batter, Jofra Archer pushes it to the left of the bowler.

OUT! LBW! Kuldeep Yadav brings out the big conventional leg break that turns back into the right-hander, bowling it quicker through the air and on a nagging length around off stump. The ball turns back in a long way, Chris Jordan looks to work it off the back foot but plays over it as well and gets rapped on the pads. There is another huge appeal for LBW and the finger is raised once more. Chris Jordan has to take the chance with the review and does go upstairs. A clear gap between the bat and the ball on UltraEdge and it is umpire's call on Ball Tracking with the ball clipping the leg stump. 200 T20 wickets for Kuldeep and India just three wickets away now from victory.

On the shorter side and outside off, Liam Livingstone backs away and cuts it to deep sweeper cover for a single.

Another length ball that slides back into the pads, Chris Jordan keeps it out.

Flatter one at the batter, Liam Livingstone comes down the pitch and mistimes the ball off his pads in front of square leg for only a single.

Immaculate length from Ravindra Jadeja, bowling it around middle and this one grips and bounces extra. Liam Livingstone does well to keep it out.

Does well in the end does Ravindra Jadeja. At the stumps, Liam Livingstone pushes it to the right of the bowler who stretches out his right leg to make a half stop and denies the single.

Length ball, sliding on with the arm onto the stumps, Chris Jordan stays back and punches it down to long on for a single.

A bit more round-arm and sliding it quickly into the batter, Liam Livingstone gets pegged back and manages to fend it past square leg for a single.

Tossed up around off and turning back in, Chris Jordan solidly blocks this off the front foot.

OUT! TIMBER! That is the mark of a great bowler and that subtle change in line has done the trick for Kuldeep Yadav and he is rightly delighted. This time Harry Brook pre-meditates the reverse sweep and Kuldeep is aware of it. Kuldeep fires it in quicker at 88 kph and full at the middle stump. Brook cannot adjust and misses the ball as the ball crashes into the stumps and the one man that looked solid for England has to now depart.

FOUR! That is skillful from Harry Brook. Floated up full and around off stump, Brook brings out the reverse sweep and nails it past first slip and into the third man fence for a much-needed boundary.

Beaten! Pushed through a bit quicker and flatter, bowling it on a nagging length around off, Harry Brook doesn't pick it and has a poke at it but the ball goes agonizingly past the outside edge.

Buzzers! A direct hit could have been trouble for Harry Brook but Ravindra Jadeja misses the stumps and gives away an extra run instead. Kuldeep Yadav dishes out a full delivery around off stump, Brook jams it out to covers and sets off for the quick single as there is a shy at the bowler's end which is wide and Brook gets back on strike.

Drinks break! Well then, this has been underwhelming thus far from the English batters but at the same time, it has been solid from the Indians. Jos Buttler was the only one who showed intent early on and got those crucial boundaries away as he knew that once the spinners came on, it wouldn't be straightforward but he tried to put Axar Patel under pressure from the get-go and was sent packing. Since then, no batter has taken matters into their hands and it is just Harry Brook who seems to be fighting a lone battle. There's still some way to go in the game but right now, India are well and truly on top of proceedings.

Short and honing in at the stumps from around the wicket, Liam Livingstone gets on the back foot and pushes it back to Jadeja.

A bit slower and fuller as well, on off, Harry Brook drives it down to long off and gets to the other end.

FOUR! Top shot! Jadeja serves it fractionally short, outside off, Harry Brook rocks on the back foot in a flash and slaps it past extra cover and beats deep cover to his right for a boundary.

Speared in by Jadeja, short and on off, Harry Brook cuts it towards backward point where the fielder dives to his right and the single is always on. The fielder dives but parries the ball away from him, allowing the batters to take one more.

Drops it way too short and it is the googly again, outside off, Harry Brook reaches out and cuts it to deep point for just a single.

Slips in the googly now, short and on middle, Liam Livingstone reads it out of the hand and goes back in the crease to nurdle it past square leg for a single.

A bit of indecision but no harm done! Full and slanting in, on off, Liam Livingstone pushes it wide of point. Harry Brook sets off for the run but gets sent back. Jasprit Bumrah swoops in and fires in a throw towards Kuldeep Yadav at the bowling end but Brook is in by then.

This skids through, at the stumps and stays a bit low as well, Harry Brook works this length delivery to long on for a single.

Kuldeep loops it up, full and on off, Liam Livingstone presses forward and drives it down to long off for a single to get off the mark.

OUT! LBW! A huge appeal and the finger is raised! Sam Curran does opt for the review but that looked pretty straight at first glance. This is the flatter googly from Kuldeep Yadav that turns in sharply from around off and middle stump. Sam Curran gets pegged back and ends up playing all around it and gets hit in front of the stumps. Nothing on UltraEdge and Ball Tracking comes up with three reds. England have now lost half their side for under 50 runs and India are running through this batting order.

Flat and short, on off, Harry Brook rocks back and cuts it late but can't get it past the man at backward point. End of another successful over by Axar Patel.

Sliding on, short and on middle, Sam Curran turns it through backward square leg for a single.

Full and coming in with the angle, Sam Curran plays it off the front foot but straight to mid-wicket.

A bit fuller and angling in, at the stumps, Harry Brook flicks it off the front foot towards deep mid-wicket and takes an easy single.

Drops it short and on middle, clipped through mid-wicket for a single by Curran.

OUT! STUMPED! Quick work by Rishabh Pant! England slip further. Not a wicket-taking delivery by Axar as this is too straight, on a nagging length, on the pads, Moeen Ali looks to tickle it fine off his pads but fails to get any bat on it. The ball thuds his thigh pad and rolls behind towards the keeper. Moeen Ali is unaware of where the ball has gone and wanders out for the run. The keeper, Rishabh Pant is alert as he collects it off the turf and whips the bails off in a jiffy. The third umpire is called into action and the replays confirm that even though Moeen turns around and tries to make the ground with his bat, he is short of his crease.

Is that stumped? It seems like some sharp glove work from Rishabh Pant behind the stumps has undone Moeen Ali here who lost his balance. The third umpire is called in and the replays clearly show that Ali's bat was in the air. OUT comes up on the big screen!

FOUR! Excellently played! Kuldeep tosses it up but drags the length back, on off, Harry Brook reaches out in front and rolls his wrists on the ball. Nails the sweep to the right of deep mid-wicket for a boundary.

Fires it in, fuller and quicker, on the pads, Moeen Ali gets his bat out in front of the pads and tucks it on the leg side for a single.

Nicely bowled! Kuldeep imparts good revs on the ball and also slows it up, full and turning away, outside off, Moeen Ali pokes at the delivery and gets beaten on the outside edge as the ball spins past the bat.

Very full and on off, Harry Brook shows a straight bat and knocks it down to long off for one.

Gives the ball air again and keeps it full, at the stumps, Harry Brook drives it well but picks out the man at cover.

A slight halt in play as the umpire is seen having a chat with Rohit Sharma probably regarding Kuldeep Yadav running onto the wicket. Just a chat it seems, no warning.

Starts with a flighted delivery, full and on off, Moeen Ali gets a good stride in and pushes it to long off for a single.

Spin from both ends now as Kuldeep Yadav is brought into the attack.

Spears it in again but the length is fuller now, on off, Harry Brook hangs back and watchfully blocks it out on the off side. End of a successful Powerplay for India. At the end of 6 overs, England are 39/3.

Aerial but safe! Flat and short, on middle, Harry Brook looks to get underneath it but gets this one off the toe-end of the bat but the ball drops safely to the right of long off for a couple of runs.

Comes from over the wicket for the left-hander and serves it full, on middle, Moeen Ali nudges it on the leg side and picks up an easy single.

Coming in with the angle again, fuller in length, on off, Harry Brook eases it to the left of the bowler and gets to the other end.

Another arm ball but the length is pulled back now, on off, Harry Brook defends it close to his body.

OUT! CASLTED! Axar Patel strikes again! Jonny Bairstow is flummoxed as he stands there looking back at the furniture disturbed behind him. Axar darts in an arm ball with a high-arm action from around the wicket, on a length and on the off pole, Jonny Bairstow stays leg side of the ball and pushes it away from his body. He plays for the non-existent turn as the ball keeps coming in with the angle and stays low as well as it sneaks past the angled bat to crash into the off stump.

Bowls this one on a fullish length and angles it onto the pads, Jonny Bairstow fails to flick it away and the ball goes off the backside of the pad towards short fine leg. They pick up a leg bye.

Top delivery! Pitched up right in the channel around off at over 139 kph and gets it to zip away a bit. Jonny Bairstow looks to block but is beaten on the outside edge as the ball dies on its way to the keeper. Rishabh Pant does well to collect it on an awkward bounce.

OUT! TIMBER! A master-craftsman at work! Jasprit Bumrah comes in from a bit wider on the crease now and bowls this one at 125.8 kph, just a smidge full and getting it to angle back in a mile. The ball pitches on off, Phil Salt clears the front leg to slog it over mid-wicket but ends up playing all over the ball. The ball crashes into the stumps and England have now lost both openers inside the first five overs.

The quicker one now, bowled on a hard length and angling back in a fair bit from around off, Phil Salt keeps it out to the leg side.

Drop and run! Another slower one that is bowled full and around off, Moeen Ali with a block to the off side before setting off for the single.

Skillfully done by Jasprit Bumrah. Slower one, pitched up on the off stump and it is the off-cutter that spins away after pitching. Moeen Ali just looks to block it off but the ball goes past the outside edge and drops in front of the keeper.

Nicely placed by Phil Salt and the batters pick up another easy two. Just short of a length and outside off stump, Salt stands tall and just pats it away wide of sweeper cover for a brace.

The arm ball now, bowled on a length and around off, Moeen Ali looks to play at it but miscues the ball down to long on for a run.

On a length again and angled into the stumps, Moeen Ali works it away in front of square on the leg side and picks up a couple of easy runs in the deep.

Quicker and flatter around off stump, Phil Salt uses the depth of the crease and backs away before hammering it down to long off for just one.

Bowled flatter and on a length, angling it in from around off, Moeen Ali waits back and just knocks the ball through mid on for a single.

Moeen Ali comes in at number 3. Moeen has been sent ahead of Jonny Bairstow to counter the left-arm spin of Axar Patel.

OUT! CAUGHT! What an introduction into the attack for Axar Patel and he's got the big fish. Axar just strides in from around the stumps and slides one in fuller around off with that high-arm action. Jos Buttler tries to put him under pressure right away by bringing out the reverse sweep but miscues the ball right off the cue end of the bat. The ball lobs up just behind the keeper and Rishabh Pant takes a dolly of a catch.

The slower bumper now, dug in well short and over the stumps, stays low as well, Jos Buttler gets surprised but manages to direct the pull in front of square leg for a single.

FOUR! Belted through the off side! A third slower ball on the trot but this is just too short and wide, Jos Buttler gets on top of the bounce and slaps the ball down in front of Ravindra Jadeja at cover for a third boundary in the over.

Just back of a length and angling it across the right-hander, Jos Buttler presses back and forces it away towards cover.

Much better from Arshdeep Singh. Slower one, bowled fuller and around off, Jos Buttler is well early in the drive and gets an inside edge back onto the pads.

FOUR! That's too straight from Arshdeep Singh and easy pickings for Jos Buttler there. Too short and at the hips, Buttler just tickles it down to fine leg and picks up back-to-back boundaries.

FOUR! JUST OVER! Pitched up outside the line of off stump, Jos Buttler dances down the track and stays leg side of the ball before swatting it away over a leaping Hardik Pandya at mid off for a boundary.

On a good length and at the pads, Jos Buttler with a flick of the wrist and the ball goes to deep square leg as the batters get one.

FOUR! Slightly streaky and slightly skillful as well from Jos Buttler. A tad fuller in length and around off stump, Buttler gets pegged back but does well to just open the bat face at the last minute to get it past the keeper and towards deep third for four runs.

Good length in the channel around off, Jos Buttler goes back and across before trying to squeeze it out on the off side but can't find the gap at cover-point.

There's that slow nature of the pitch on display again. Pitched up a bit, taking pace off as well, Jos Buttler looks to drive on the up but mistimes it uppishly on the bounce to mid off.

On a hard length and angled in at the batter, Jos Buttler clips it away neatly behind square leg and picks up a couple of handy runs.

Starts off with a good-length delivery bowling it on a much straighter line at the stumps, Phil Salt gets inside the line and gets it away to deep square leg for a single.

Who will bowl from the other end? It will be Jasprit Bumrah.

Off the pads and just five runs come off the first over of the chase. Digs it in a bit short and at the hips, Phil Salt gets tangled up and the ball lobs up off his thigh pad towards short fine leg. They get a leg bye.

Good change-up from Arshdeep Singh! Bowls it slower at just 118 kph and full around the off stump, Phil Salt steps up to go big but is well beaten as the ball rolls to the keeper.

On a length and at the stumps, swinging back in a bit, Jos Buttler works it away through mid-wicket and picks up a single.

Arshdeep Singh drags the length well back and bowls it at the batter. Jos Buttler is quick to see this and comes down the track before pulling the ball between deep square leg and the man at long leg for a couple of runs.

Pitched up around the off stump line and getting it to just nip back in a bit, late as well. Jos Buttler looks to play on the up but is a bit late and gets it off the inner half of the bat onto the leg side.

England are up and running right away! Just a hint of swing there from Arshdeep Singh as he bowls it full and shapes it back into the pads. Phil Salt flicks it away to deep square leg and gets off the mark with a single.

A single to end the first innings! Chris Jordan bowls it on a hard length and attacks the stumps. Arshdeep Singh tries to give himself room and swing at the ball but miscues it badly just on the leg side. The batters set off for the run but Jordan is quick to get to the ball. However, he is indecisive with the throw and ends up missing and under-arm effort at the bowler's end. Luckily, there's a man backing up and India don't get the extra run. India finish with 171/7 on the board!

Arshdeep Singh comes out to face the last ball.

OUT! CAUGHT! Chipped straight to the man in the deep! Chris Jordan keeps bowling back of a length and slower as well but straightens the line bowling it over middle and leg. Axar Patel tries to just get inside the line but gets cramped up and ends up getting it much higher on the bat than he would have liked. The ball goes straight up and carries to deep mid-wicket where Phil Salt comes in and takes a simple catch.

SIX! One hand off the handle and yet Axar Patel gets enough on it to bring up the 500th six of the tournament. Slower one, banged into the deck and outside off. Axar gets a bit stuck and tries to reach out and swipe across the line but the ball goes off the top edge of the bat and carries over deep mid-wicket for a six.

Into the pitch and slanted away from the left-hander, Axar Patel reaches out and hits it away in front of square on the off side before racing back for two. Liam Livingstone is the man in the deep who fires in a wide throw at the keeper's end.

Takes pace off again and bowls it a tad fuller and around off stump, Ravindra Jadeja is early on the drive and plays it away towards cover for just a single.

Hits the deck hard and angles the ball well across the off stump at about 121 kph. It is the off-cutter, Ravindra Jadeja comes down the pitch and hammers it wide of deep extra cover and sprints back for the second run. A better throw at the bowler's end could have made things difficult for Axar Patel.

How much more can India get off this last over? It will be Chris Jordan to bowl the last over. Can he keep India under 170?

Much better ending to the over from Jofra Archer. Comes from around the stumps, clocks it well over 140 kph and spears the ball in at the toes. Axar Patel looks to shimmy down the pitch and open up the off side but is well beaten.

This is pitched up around the middle and leg stump line at 140.4 KPH, Ravindra Jadeja plays it on the up and pushes it down to long on for a single.

Jos Buttler walks up to Jofra Archer and the duo have a chat regarding the field setting. Archer changes his angle of attack as he comes around the wicket.

FOUR! This is very smart batting from Ravindra Jadeja and the momentum shifts again. Too predictable from Jofra Archer as this is bowled slower and a bit fuller at the stumps, Jadeja gets down on one knee and just angles the sweep between square leg and backward square leg for another boundary. 11 off the over already, still 2 balls to go.

There is an early call for two and they get it with ease, Ravindra Jadeja is rapid! Pace on this time, on a good length and outside off, hit away through cover-point for a couple of runs.

FOUR! In the gap! Fractionally shorter but offering width outside the off stump, Ravindra Jadeja just reaches out and times the ball nicely, getting it behind point for a boundary. The 150 is now up for India.

Axar Patel walks in now. Chris Jordan is on a hat-trick now. Jordan already has a hat-trick to his name. It came against the USA. Can he join Pat Cummins as the second man to take back-to-back hat-tricks in this World Cup?

OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Two in two for Chris Jordan and all of a sudden, he's on a hat-trick! Jordan goes pace on, bowling it nice and full on off stump with the natural angle just slanting it across the left-hander. Shivam Dube is a bit tentative to get onto the front foot and just has a poke at it, getting a feather of an outside edge that goes straight into the mitts of Jos Buttler behind the stumps. Jordan is on a roll!

OUT! CAUGHT! Third-time lucky for Chris Jordan and Hardik Pandya departs after a cameo. Jordan has the heart to pitch the ball up again and tries to get it wide enough of the off stump. Pandya holds his shape again but goes really hard at it and gets no elevation whatsoever. The ball flies off the bat but goes around waist height towards long off where Sam Curran takes a sharp catch and England get another timely wicket.

SIX! That was a real 'hit-me' ball and Hardik Pandya has picked up a couple of sixes on the bounce! This is floated up full and outside the off stump, Pandya hangs deep and reaches out before smashing the ball flat and over a leaping Sam Curran at long off for another six. That pinged off Pandya's bat!

SIX! Oh, that is sheer power from Hardik Pandya, stand and deliver! Chris Jordan looks to bowl the slower one into the pitch and angle it in from around off but it sits up for the batter. Pandya holds his shape, clears the front leg and swats it flat and wide of long on for a biggie.

Slightly back of a length and around off stump, Hardik Pandya stands tall, waits for the ball and punches it with a high elbow through extra cover before coming back for the second run.

Oh, that could have gone anywhere! Bowls it flatter now and tightens the line around off stump, Hardik Pandya rocks back to cut but chops the ball down and it goes through Jos Buttler. They pick up a single.

WIDE! Slower and shorter, pushed well outside the off stump, a bit too wide and Hardik Pandya leaves it alone.

Goes full again and bowls it wide of the off stump, Ravindra Jadeja hits it fimly and through covers for a run.

Slows it up and drags the length right back, bowling it well wide of the off stump, Hardik Pandya tries to reach out and go hard at it but mistimes it again. The ball goes to long off and they get just another single.

Comes from around the stumps and bowls with the off-spin grip to the left-hander. This is fired in quite full and around off, Ravindra Jadeja drives it down to long off for one more.

Tosses the ball up again, full as well but throws it well outside off, Hardik Pandya with the big wind-up trying to heave it away but he completely miscues it off the toe end of the bat in front of mid-wicket for a single.

Tosses this one up very full and gets it to dip on the batter, Hardik Pandya hangs back and jams it out from the leg peg back to the bowler who makes a good stop.

UPDATE - 10.58 pm IST (5.28 pm GMT) - We have a resumption time, folks! Play to restart at 11.10 pm IST (5.40 pm GMT) with no overs lost. For Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, it is about starting their inning all over again while England will be looking to strike immediately after the break.

UPDATE - 10.45 pm IST (5.15 pm GMT) - Right then, time for the inspection. The Guyana National Stadium is bathed in sunshine as the two umpires walk out to inspect. There are still a few areas in the in-field that the match officials are concerned about and sawdust is being used to dry them off. India's head coach Rahul Dravid is also out there. Just a reminder - India will be concerned with the damp patches on the outfield because it is they who have to bowl second. But as far as the result is concerned, if there is a washout - INDIA WILL GO THROUGH - on account of topping their group in the Super Eight. Spare a thought for Jos Buttler - Rain denied England a full match against Scotland, nearly knocked them out in the league stage itself against Namibia and now, is playing hide-and-seek with them in this semifinal. Nothing that Jos Buttler can do, except hope that Lady Luck is in his team's favour. A long way to go though...as per the official ICC statement, given that we need to have a minimum of 10 overs of play for a match to be constituted in this semifinal and the final, the latest that this match can start is 1.44 am IST, Friday (8.14 pm GMT, Thursday).

UPDATE - 10.36 pm IST (5.06 pm GMT) - The majority of the covers have been removed but there are still some damp areas in the outfield which are causing concern for the match officials. Before the rest of the covers can be removed, the ground staff want to make sure that all the water has been removed and are using the Super Sopper to do the job.

UPDATE - 10.24 pm IST (4.54 pm GMT) - The umpires are out in the middle having a chat and they are looking up trying to get a good perspective from where the weather seems to be coming in. It is currently sunny out there, or at least in most parts and the groundstaff seem to be doing a quick and efficient mop-up job. The Indian coach, Rahul Dravid can be seen taking a stroll as the umpires inspect the deck and the surrounding areas closely. We might get a proper update soon! And, we do get an update - Inspection at 10.45 pm IST (5.15 pm GMT)!

UPDATE - 10.11 pm IST (4.41 pm GMT) - Good news! The rain has subsided, and the ground staff are making their way out to the middle. There is a lot of water on the covers, which needs to be taken care of before the covers can be removed. It was a heavy downpour but the drainage system at this venue is excellent, so it should not take long for the ground staff to get the field ready for play. A few minutes later, the sun is out and the ground staff are slowly peeling the covers off.

UPDATE - 9.53 pm IST (4.23 pm GMT) - Ah no! It has started to rain again, and this time it is heavy enough for the umpires to take the players off the field. On come the ground staff with the covers. It is absolutely pelting down as the fans on the grass banks rush for cover. As per the on-air commentators, the next update from the ground is expected at 10.30 pm IST (5 pm GMT). Fingers crossed for a positive update!

A good change-up to finish the over but 10 runs come off it. Chris Jordan goes quick and full and bowls it wide of the off stump, Rohit Sharma's feet get stuck and he looks to thrash it away but misses.

More promising signs as the ground staff start the process of peeling the covers off. The match officials have scheduled an inspection for 8.30 pm IST (3 pm GMT). Live visuals show the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, out in the middle inspecting the strip.

Jasprit Bumrah is in for a chat. He says that the expectations are high, but as a unit, they have played a lot of ICC tournaments. Adds that more than focusing on the outside noise, they are trying to be in the present. Feels that you can only control the controllable, and it is important to put the best foot forward. Tells that assessing the wicket is crucial and there are a lot of variables you have to take into account. Further says that if they do their job well, the result will take care of itself.
