Goes full and quick and attacks the toes well, Jofra Archer clears the front leg and whips it away in front of square leg for a single.

OUT! CAUGHT! Unbelievable take from skipper Aiden Markram and he could have just won the game for his side. Anrich Nortje steams in from over the stumps and rolls his fingers over the ball before pitching it up around off stump. Harry Brook is on the front foot and looks to hit through the line but is early in the shot and the ball gets lofted over mid off. Markram backtracks and keeps his eyes on the ball before diving over his shoulder and grabbing a stellar catch with both hands. Markram even manages to keep the ball in his grasp when his elbows thud into the ground. What a turnaround this could be!

Pushing hard for two and they will get it, 14 needed now off the final over and that is a solid over from Marco Jansen. Shorter in length and angled at the batter, Sam Curran lifts it away over the square leg region and runs back for the second run.

Up in the air but won't carry! Jansen bangs it in and angles it well across off stump, Harry Brook comes forward to go over covers but slices it up into the breeze and the ball lands well short of Tristan Stubbs who runs in from deep cover. Just another single.

Short of a good length and angled in from around middle, Sam Curran half-pulls it away to deep mid-wicket and turns the strike over.

That is brilliant running and that will be FIFTY for Harry Brook, his first in the T20 World Cup and third T20I fifty overall. Marco Jansen bangs this one in a bit over the stumps, Brook gets across a bit and pulls it through mid-wicket and races back for the second run. OUT! CAUGHT! Would you believe it? Kagiso Rabada with another full toss and this time, Liam Livingstone has holed out. Livingstone will though feel that he has done his job. KG serves this one on the pads and gets it to dip just a bit, Liam Livingstone picks it up and looks to slog it over deep backward square leg but hits into the breeze. Tristan Stubbs moves to his right from deep square leg, slides on his knees, and takes a good catch under pressure with the reverse cup. Rabada seems pumped up but is it too late for South Africa?

Kagiso Rabada now bowls a full toss, on middle and gets away with it. Liam Livingstone punches the ball straight back and KG manages to get a hand on it.

SIX! Oh, dear! The wheels are starting to come off for South Africa and this is poor bowling from Ottneil Baartman, 14 off the over already. FOUR! That is a gift for Liam Livingstone. A juicy full toss wide of the off stump, Liam hangs back again and forces the lofted shot with raw power over the cover region and picks up another boundary.

FOUR! Harry Brook is now toying with the field and what a momentum shift this has been. Just back of a length and angling back in from middle, Brrok makes room and smashes the ball wide of covers and picks up yet another boundary.

FOUR! A perfect start to the over for Harry Brook and England. Anrich Nortje runs in and bangs it in short around off at over 144 clicks, Brook gives him the charge and swats the ball up and over mid off for a boundary.

Ottneil Baartman comes from around the wicket, and delivers a short-pitched delivery outside off, Moeen Ali tries to drag it uppishly over mid-wicket but doesn't move his feet at all, and hits it too hard, losing his shape and completely slicing the ball up in the air. The ball goes up in the air and travels straight into the safe hands of Keshav Maharaj who runs from the deep and takes a good catch ahead of deep mid-wicket.

Drinks! Well, this game is more tilted toward the Proteas as they have managed to dismiss the top three, way before the halfway mark in the chase. The pacers started off really well with Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen troubling the batters for runs. Keshav Maharaj then compounded the pressure and hasn't given away anything as well. Also, South Africa's efforts in the fielding have been top-drawer, to say the least. England is crawling behind the eight ball and needs a strong resilient partnership. OUT! CAUGHT! The pressure was telling and Keshav Maharaj has got rid of the dangerman Jos Buttler. Nicely slowed up, on a length, and drifted into middle and leg. Buttler goes down on one knee and goes for the slog-sweep with the wind but gets it quite high on the bat and gets no distance on it. The ball hangs up in the air towards deep mid-wicket where Heinrich Klaasen settles under it and redeems himself with a reverse-cup take over his head. Maharaj has his second wicket and the English skipper walks back after a sedate inning. England three men down now.

Banged in well short over middle, a bit slower too, Jos Buttler swivels and pulls it away without much timing wide of deep square leg and picks up a handy couple of runs.

Bowls it fuller and at the batter, Jos Buttler looks to get on the front foot but has to adjust and blocks it back to the bowler.

Short again over leg stump, Moeen Ali uses his wrists and works it down to deep fine leg for an easy single.

Excellent end to the Powerplay by Ottneil Baartman, and England are 44/1, their lowest Powerplay total of the competition so far. Pitched up on the off stump line, Jonny Bairstow drills it straight back and the ball deflects away off Baartman's hand to mid off and they get a single.

Good change of length here from Ottneil Baartman. Spears in the yorker around off stump, Jonny Bairstow makes room to open up the off side but the ball sneaks past the inside edge and misses the off stump by a few inches.

Hard length again and outside off, Jonny Bairstow backs away and goes hard at the ball but mistimes it over the cover region for a couple of runs.

On a hard length and outside off, going away from the right-hander, Jonny Bairstow hangs back and looks to go over covers but is well beaten.

Jos Buttler looks to step out but Ottneil Baartman shortens the length and angles it into the body. The ball goes off the thigh bat to backward square leg and they get a leg bye.

Sam Curran there backtracks from the inner ring, keeps his eyes glued to the ball, and puts in a timely dive to take a sensational catch. He tumbles on the ground but sustains the catch.

Jofra Archer serves it fuller in length, and shade on the off stump line, David Miller clears his front foot to open up the off side but gets it off the toe-end and hits it flat in the air and to the left of long off. Harry Brook patrolling the long off fence sprints to his left, gets low and takes a screamer of a catch. He slides with the momentum but manages to keep it in the hands. Miller departs.

What was he trying to do here? Short and down the leg side, it gets an extra bit of bounce as well. Tristan Stubbs premeditates the switch hit and makes a complete mess out of it. He fails to connect and the ball goes past his willow's edge to the keeper.

OUT! RUN OUT! Oh, wow! What a sensational bit of fielding from Jos Buttler and he is ecstatic and rightly so too. Mark Wood misfires with the bumper again and spills it well down the leg side. Heinrich Klaasen leaves it alone and Buttler gets an awkward bounce as the ball rolls off his body towards short fine leg. David Miller calls Klaasen for the single a bit late and Klaasen isn't even watching his partner but does set off. Buttler takes off one glove, gets to the ball, turns around, and just scores a direct hit at the bowler's end. Klaasen isn't even in the frame.

Back of a length and wide of the off stump, Heinrich Klaasen waits back and cuts it hard to the left of covers but Moeen Ali makes a good diving stop.

FOUR! Smacked away by Heinrich Klaasen and that will make him feel a lot better. Sam Curran comes back in and starts from around the stumps but serves it right in the slot around off. Klaasen holds his shape and pummels it to the right of Harry Brook at long off for a boundary.

A steep bumper to end an excellent over from Jofra Archer and England are now in the ascendancy. Stays around the wicket and angles in a quick bumper that goes over the right shoulder of David Miller and Miller just ducks under it.

OUT! EDGED AND GONE! A stunning take from Jos Buttler behind the stumps and the decision to bring Jofra Archer back into the attack has proved to be a masterstroke. Comes back from around the stumps does Archer and pushes the ball wide of the off stump on a good length but rolls his fingers over the ball and takes all the pace off. Quinton de Kock hangs back in the crease and looks to force the ball over the off-side but only manages to get an outside edge that flies to the left of the keeper. Buttler springs to his left and pouches it with one glove to hand his side a big breakthrough.

A slower delivery, turns out to be a dipping full toss around the waist, Heinrich Klaasen waits for it and just flicks it behind square leg for a single.

Heinrich Klaasen isn't quite assured at the crease at the moment. This is a good bumper through, surprised the batter and came in at a difficult height over off stump at around 145 clicks. Klaasen looked to take it on but missed.

Right then, it was a rollicking start for Quinton de Kock and South Africa in the Powerplay and the Proteas were going at over 10 runs per over but since the fielding restrictions have lifted, the scoring rate has also dried up. Reeza Hendricks is having a miserable time and has just got out. Harry Brook stationed at long on, runs a few yards ahead, settles underneath it, and pouches it safely.

QDK premeditates and sits on his knee, sweeps it uppishly but doesn't time it well and the ball goes flat, and straight towards Mark Wood stationed at deep fine. He bends low and takes it just a few centimeters above the grass. However, Quinton de Kock chats with the umpire for a clean catch. Well, now the question is whether he has kept his fingers underneath. The on-field umpire reviews it for a clean catch and several angles come in. Eventually, the third umpire confirms that Wood has grassed it. Jos Buttler is visibly not happy with the decision and QDK is let off the hook.

Is that a clean catch? The fielder in the deep seems to have taken a fairly regulation catch but quite low in front of him. Quinton de Kock is asking whether it is clean or not and eventually, the umpires go upstairs. The replays show that Mark Wood did take the catch but his fingers weren't completely underneath it. It is a tight call though and the third umpire zooms in to get a better view. The conclusion is that the fingers are pointing downwards and the ball seems to be in contact with the ground. NOT OUT comes up on the big screen and Jos Buttler isn't happy with it and demands more of an explanation from the onfield umpires but that won't change the decision.

South African skipper, Aiden Markram says that they would have bowled first as well given it is an early start and would have fancied chasing but will now look to put a good total on the board. Adds that going forward, you need to rest and recover quickly and get back into the mix. Mentions that the top order needed an outing and they got that in the last game as the middle order has been digging them out of trouble on most occasions.

Jos Buttler, the captain of England wins the toss and elects to bowl first. He says it is a fresh wicket and looks like a good wicket and says they will fancy another chase and go with the same formula. Adds the ball will swing with the wind and there might be some moisture in the early stages of the game. Further adds that they performed really well against West Indies in all facets of the game and now they are up against another tough opposition and he expects a good game. On Jofra Archer, he says he is in a good space of mind and they want to look after him as much as they can. Ends by informing that they are playing the same side from the last game.

South Africa on the other hand have won 5 out of 5 matches so far and four of them were close encounters. Also, given the fact that they haven't faced a really world-class side yet could be a troubling factor and England won't be a team that will let them off the hook easily. However, the confidence will be high in the Proteas camp and a couple of their crucial players have started to find rhythm as well which could be a telling factor. So, can South Africa make it 6 wins out of 6 and take a crucial lead in Group 2? England are the reigning T20 World Champions and after an up-and-down preliminary group stage showing, they have now started playing like champions which was evident in that huge win against hosts West Indies in the previous game. The depth in batting that they have makes them a formidable opponent for any side and if that bowling line-up starts clicking a bit more, we could see them back to their best. All eyes will be on Phil Salt as he continues to have a fabulous 2024 whether be it in franchise cricket or at the international stage.

Hello and welcome to the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia where England will go up against South Africa in Match 5 of the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, 2024. This will be the second match for both sides in this stage of the competition and with either side having won their first game, the victor in this game will have complete control of their group and will be in a stellar position to qualify for the semifinals.

The first round of Super Eight matches are underway but we have already seen all four teams in Group 2 take part in a game at this stage. Next up in Match 5 of the Super Eight, unbeaten South Africa will take on a resurgent England side at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St. Lucia. Both teams won their first match of this stage of the competition and will be vying for supremacy in Group 2 and the winner might just guarantee a place in the semifinals as well or at the very least, they will be in pole position to do so. South Africa were the first team to put points on the board in their group with a win over USA. They were put into bat first and Quinton de Kock finally came to the party as he smashed 80-odd runs in no time and skipper Aiden Markram also played a solid knock which will make him feel good too. Reeza Hendricks still hasn't fired and might have left the door open for someone like Ryan Rickelton to come in but given QDK is back to his best, they might still persist with Hendricks who will play more of an anchor role. Heinrich Klaasen was again at the forefront in the middle overs and along with Tristan Stubbs took the Proteas to a big total. With the ball, consistent performer Ottneil Baartman was dropped as they went with an extra spinner and kept that experienced pace trio of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen intact. Keshav Maharaj repaid that trust and was prolific in the middle overs but Tabraiz Shamsi was asked to bowl at the death and gave away plenty under pressure. Moving on to England, they made fairly light work of hosts West Indies as Phil Salt played an unbelievable knock and got good support from a couple of other batters. The bowlers also did extremely well to pull back things as the Windies threatened to go well past 200 runs for a while and ended up scoring just 180 runs. The pace attack still doesn't look quite settled and only Jofra Archer seems to be an assured starter with the likes of Mark Wood and Chris Jordan vying for that spot. Sam Curran has also come in and done reasonably well but a lot will ride on the spin duo of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid as England look to step on the gas at the right time and get one step closer to defending their title. With both sides putting on strong batting performances in the last game, England have a slim advantage of playing their previous game on the very same ground but in the end, it might come down to that spin duo on both sides and the team to control the middle phase might just come out on top.
