Mark Adair looks to take on the pull but the ball gets big on him and ends up getting sliced up high off the top edge. The ball comes back down on the deck and Gordon himself takes the catch.

Oh, that could have gone anywhere! Kaleem Sana misses his mark with the yorker again and serves a low full toss on the pads, Mark Adair flicks it straight to short fine leg for a single.

Sana sprints to his right and puts in a big dive to just pull the ball back in. Sana has hurt his shoulder a bit but seems fine.

Well bowled! Slows it right up, bringing the pace down from mid-90s to 65 KPH and floats it outside off. George Dockrell looks to go over cobvers but is well beaten.

OUT! CAUGHT! What a catch! Aaron Johnson with the dodgy knee has put in a huge effort and has taken a fine, fine catch. Dilon Heyliger bangs it in a bit more short and right at the batter. Thet extra pace and especially the extra bounce hurries Curtis Campher who tries to take it on but gets it aerially and wide of fine leg. Johnson there covers a fair bit of ground to his left and dives across late to pouch it with both hands. Heyliger is delighted and Ireland have lost half their side.

Drinks break! Well then, Canada are writing their own script here and are just 10 overs away from what could be a massive win. OUT! RUN OUT! Another good effort in the field and it brings about a wicket as well for Canada and they are now bossing this game. Saad Bin Zafar bowls this one shorter and around off, Lorcan Tucker rocks back to cut and hits it straight to backward point before setting off for the single. There is a bit of hesitation as well in the middle and the fielder over there, Nicholas Kirton does well to collect the ball and throw it to the bowler. Saad just about manages to keep the ball in his fingers and whips off the bails and the replays show that Tucker is short of his ground.

Good fielding again! Fuller one around off stump, Lorcan Tucker gets inside the line and sweeps it well behind square leg but the fielder runs across to his right and dives to make the stop. Two runs are taken.

A tad short and at the stumps, Curtis Campher makes some room again and slaps it to the left of covers where Junaid Siddiqui makes a good stop and keeps it down to a single.

Sees the batter backing away and bowls it flatter, angling it back in, Curtis Campher makes room to cut but can't get it through the infield.

Fired in full on middle and leg, Lorcan Tucker clips it away in front of mid-wicket for a single.

A big, big appeal for a catch but the umpire remains unmoved. The skipper, Saad Bin Zafar is certain and does send it upstairs. This is bowled a bit shorter and around the top of off stump, Lorcan Tucker tries to be cheeky and attempts the reverse-dab but seems to have missed it. The ball goes off the top of the pad and lobs straight to first slip. The third umpire checks UltraEdge first and there is no bat involved and the impact is also outside the line of off stump on Ball Tracking. NOT OUT!

Just a bit straighter and Lorcan Tucker works it around the corner for a run.

OUT! TIMBER! What a delivery and what a moment for the Canadian skipper! Saad Bin Zafar just slows it up a touch and drags the length back ever so slightly. This one pitched around off and middle, drifts in and then grips to turn away sharply. Harry Tector looks to block off the front foot but the ball beats the outside edge and knocks over the top of off stump. Ireland in a spot of bother now.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Soft dismissal and all of a sudden, its double whammy for Canada. Junaid Siddiqui tosses this one up nicely on middle and Andy Balbirnie just looks to chip it away on the on side. Balbirnie ends up lobbing it straight back at the bowler who takes a simple catch and Ireland have now lost both their openers.

Gives it a bit more air and floats it full on middle and leg, Lorcan Tucker knocks it through the mid on region and picks up a single.

Saad Bin Zafar, the Canada skipper says that they would have bowled first too looking at the moisture in the wicket. Mentions that it’s good to see the associates beating the full member nation. Ends by sharing that they bring in Junaid Siddiqui in place of Nikhil Dutta as the solitary change.

Paul Stirling, the Ireland skipper says that it’s a must win game for them and they hope to keep Canada to a chasable score. Adds that the wicket has changed a bit and might be some less lateral movement than the previous game. Ends by sharing that Ben White misses out and a pacer replaces him.

Pitch Report: The experts share that has been heavy overnight rain so the outfield might be a bit slow. They further add that it's the same wicket that was used for the India-Ireland game but the pitch is rolled a bit and might play better. They share that the sun is shining bright and the captain winning the toss should bowl first.

Canada, on the flip side, played the opening game of the tournament and were competitive against USA. Batting first, Canada made a solid score of 194 on the back of runs from Navneet Dhaliwal, Nicolas Kirton, and Shreyas Movva. Canadian bowlers kept it tight till the 10th over of the second innings but Aaron Jones and Andries Gous from USA took the attack on them and the game slipped away from Canada. Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of Match 13 in the ICC T20 World Cup, 2024. Canada are taking on Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Both sides are coming off losses and will hope to put a better performance which gets them their first win of the competition. The pitch at New York hasn’t been the best and the batters have found it hard to get the runs. Ireland played India at this ground at few days back and were bundled out for just 96. Only Gareth Delany could manage a significant score while the rest of the batting did not turn up. Mark Adair and Ben White took a wicket each but they runs were never going to be enough. Paul Stirling and his men will want put that game behind and start afresh against Canada. 

…MATCHDAY… 

It is now time for a Trans-Atlantic battle as Canada take on Ireland in Match 13 of the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Two teams who have already played a game each and have endured defeat and this game springs up a perfect opportunity to let go of the blemishes and usher in a new era with a win and get two crucial points on the board as well. Canada played against their rivals and hosts USA in the curtain raiser of 2024 T20 World Cup and after a stellar effort with the bat, they failed to capitalize with the ball and ended up on the losing side. The likes of Navneet Dhaliwal and Nicholas Kirton starred with the bat and Shreyas Movva played a fine cameo too and the highly-tauted Aaron Johnson couldn't convert a brisk start into something spectacular. Still, 194 runs was a huge total but their bowlers lacked inventiveness and the fielding was sub par and even after doing reasonably well in the first 10 overs, they conceded runs at a rate of knots in the latter stages and the opposition chased down the target with 14 balls to spare. Ireland on the other hand played against a strong Indian unit in their first game and that too at this very ground. So far, the Nassau County Stadium has witnessed a couple of matches and in neither of those two matches has the team batting first crossed the 100-run mark. The pitch has been up for debate with some regarding it as borderline dangerous but it seems to have just leveled the playing field in terms of a bowling perspective. Ireland were bundled out for 96 runs and had no answer to the Indian pacers but against the spinners it was a different game and on this particular ground, it seems if you can escape the new ball unscathed, there are runs to be scored. The highly experienced opening duo of Ireland, Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling will be eager to lead from the front and they do have a well-rounded pace attack consisting of the likes of Mark Adair and Joshua Little that can really cause damage to a somewhat inexperienced team like Canada.
